An underground spring emerges in the midst of this thicket.
The dove was heading in for its evening bath.

Bill,

Agree with Alfred. You can post at 800 ppi which would help and I would crop closer in to the bird to accentuate its action.

Howdy Bill, I can appreciate the concept; but, I agree that there is too much happening in the foreground for my taste.

Thanks guys for the critiques.
I cropped it loose purposely to give a sense of location, and to somewhat justify the busy foreground.

I admit the concept is a bit abstract, and renders a somewhat impressionistic image.
But I tried to capture a bird in action, under very challenging circumstances.

I was indeed fortunate to nail the focus on the bird, considering it was flying pretty rapidly into the weeds.

I'll embrace your suggestions for a tighter crop, and try to post it when the rules permit me.

At the suggestion of the group, I've cropped the image.

Frankly, I like it a lot this way, and appreciate the suggestions.

By the way, the shooting info is Canon Mark II 1Dn, ISO 500, 1/400, F-5.6.

Lens Canon 400 mm 5.6.

Way to go Bill - looks very cool as you focused in on the action.
