One of 2 species of Lapwing in Australia. This is the most common, and can be quite aggressive and intimidating with those wing-spurs!
Thanks for looking, Greg.

Hi Greg - Great image! Like the color, composition. The pose with the spread wings, especially with spurs visible made this image even better. Nice detail visible in the water around the feet.

Very nice image.
No one else has mentioned this but I feel it needs a touch of CW rotation.
IQ and feather detail are excellent. The spurs are beautifully visualized.
I am not sure about the OOF reeds between the wings. I am OK with the ones in the LUC.
You are usually lower with your images. Is there a reason you have this higher POV?

Impressive looking bird with those spurs. Great wings up pose. Lower shooting angle possible? On the other hand, I might be scared in this case!

Wow, those spurs are pretty awesome. Really nice IQ, agree on the rotation, the reeds between the wings don't bother me, but I do agree a lower angle would have improved this image.

Those are some menacing looking spikes! The display is brilliant and very well photographed. I dig the reeds in the background. The exposure work was handled perfectly. The water movement is really tricky in regards to my eye figuring out "level"...

Hi Greg, good looking lapwing, and not one we have here in SA. I like the colours and detail, sharp, and the wing position shows off the spurs on each wing nicely. Overall, well exposed too.

Thanks for the feedback guys - with the shooting angle, you are all correct in saying that I would have loved to have got much lower - but unfortunately I was shooting from a high-ish bank looking down so it wasn't possible,
Cheers, Greg
