I haven't seen too many solitary sandpipers posted so thought I would add this guy to the current crop of shorebirds.
They are smaller and fatter than yellowlegs and have a complete eyering. They are hilarious to watch when bathing because they don't dunk and shake but rather launch themselves forward across the water and as soon as they hit the water they throw themselves in an entirely different direction. This is repeated several times in a row. Kind of looks like a duckling learning to fly.
Image taken in Ingonish, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia
Canon 1DX

1/800 @ f 8.0 ISO 800
~ 60% FF
PP: Crop, NR to BG, cleaned up the water via clone and patch, levels, reduced magenta in color balance, DE at 3% and USM to JPEG at 30%

Beautiful capture! I long for just a little more room at the bottom, so the reflection isn't so close to the edge, but I may not be seeing the full image on my iPhone.

Nice colors, good exposure and nice low angle. I love reflections that are kind of fuzzy like this one. TFS

Great species. You can't go wrong with low angled shooting in magic green water like this....and you didn't! Love that eye ring.

Hi Gail, tack sharp, and a pretty neat pose with the leaning legs. Light looks good, and Im fine with the comp as is. No one else has mentioned it, but Im seeing a bit of noise in the BG.

I like the low angle and the relatively calm water with green tones. some of the whites look a tad bright on my screen. sharp details

Terrific species in complimentary colors. Could come in a bit tighter off the top and right (to balance) as an alternative. Very pretty.

Looks very sharp to me Gail - perhaps just a little OTT, also I would consider lowering the contrast a tad, it looks a little bit too intense to me.

I like it for the colours around and the loose composition , may not change anything
the reflection is what balances the image for me eventhough its hazy ,it typically adds a lot to this image, the greens look great and a lovely POV
overall a lovely execution.

Lovely light makes him pop off the dark green background. Could imagine a slivver off the top, but I think I'd be inclined not to change a thing.
