Howdy,

Long time reader of the forums, first time poster.

Been a Canon shooter since 2007. I say a Canon Shooter, but certainly not a Canon Snob, heck I've evern been known to welcome those poor lost Nikon souls into my home for a cup of tea ;) Favourite areas of photography are wildlife, landscape and sports. When I'm not shooting fast moving wildlife I seem to be moving fast moving Premiership Footballers. To be honest as subjects I think I prefer the birds :) I try as much as possible to avoid saying yes to what seems a long list of friends who would like me to shoot their wedding / baby / dog.

Weapons of choice are the Canon 1DX (oh man, even almost a year in and I still get goosebumps with the IOS / AF performance) and the Canon 1D MK IV. Started with a 350D and then onto a 7D. You can read more about gear (if that floats your boat) here (http://www.nigelcookephotography.co.uk/?page_id=29).

Favourite birds to shoot include the Kingfisher and the Northern Gannet.

Favourite bird related shot to date - White Tailed Sea Eagle on the Island of Mull (which by the way happens to be my favourite place on earth). I've included this below.

So that's about it - a bit more about me along with Blog and Project related items can be found over on my website (http://www.nigelcookephotography.co.uk/). If you rather look at pictures than words then my portfolio can be found here (http://nigelcookephotography.smugmug.com/).

cheers,

Nigel

Hi Nigel and welcome to BPN. I think I would enjoy shooting sports myself and did a little of that in high school with at the football games. It was definitely exciting for me to get the action at the perfect moment. I find nature and wildlife photography brings the same kind of excitement and at the same time provides such a great sense of peace and appreciation for life for me. I encourage you to share your images, ideas and comments with us as we can all learn something from each other. Great action shot BTW
