These little guys were on the go nearly all the time, this is just about the only straightforward still portrait I got.

They are very active and it is not easy to make a decent image of them! you got the right HA and with some nice details in this one.

Excellent shooting angle for the terrain, perfect I'd say... I like the texture of the ground. To fine tune here, a consideration would be to lighten the eye/catchlight...it's fairly dark as is due to the elevated angle of the light source.

This looks just like our NA juvie semipalmated plover. Are they the same species?
I love this type of environment with the little pools of water in the mud flat dips.
Good angle and IQ.

My first instinct was that an even lower angle would be cool...but I agree that the current view of the ground's undulations is pretty neat. The HA is not per say, but I feel the image would have been stronger had it been angled a bit more towards us. Still well done!

I like the multi-puddled sandy bottom. I like how these birds stand very still for you. Fine job.
