I was trying to photograph a wildflower when this wasp flew in with a katydid/cricket (not really sure of the difference). He stayed about 10-15 seconds before flying off again.
Tokina 100mm f2.8 macro mounted on an Olympus EP-2 (M4/3). Significant crop.

This is a nice bit of action. The dark forces of evil (the wasp) captures the fair-colored katydid :c3:! That eye on the katydid says it all!

Way to grab an opportunity! Beautifully focused, and the look in the eye of the prey insect is quite a grabber. I wish the upper wing didn't have vegetation in front of it, but that's really hard to control when you're working with insects in the wild.

I've not seen Tokina macros before, seems to do the trick very nicely.....I never realized Katydids had what looks like a pupil in the eye
