Nicely done, very cool subject. Would be ideal if both vertical wings were sharp as they are quite interesting, but more DOF would have brought up the BG more, which would not be so great. I would prefer a little tighter on bottom and a little looser up top, but a minor point. I think the size of the dragon in the frame is about perfect.

Nice shot Stuart, the focus is good as is the detail. I think I would have taken the image a from a slightly greater distance, the dragon is just a little large in the frame for my eye, I would also suggest reducing the yellows a little.

Hi Stuart, These Amberwings tend to perch low so getting an isolated shot is tough. I like the details in the head and thorax so your critical focus is good. the BG is a bit busy for my taste but as I said that is hard to do with this species. -- Allen
