A great pose on this sandpiper - a species (one of many) that has eluded me. I love the raised foot. Very nice feather detail. I'm curious to know it you blurred the bg at all, and whether you considered blurring even more (if you did at all)?

No Bill I did not blur the background, the new 600 II now has a nine blade aperture.
I am very pleased with the results as I just purchased it, and have had nothing to shoot as it's dead slow around here.
Good thing shorebird migration has started. Thanks for the comments.

Very excellent Mike, the detail and exposure are just right. Love the walking pose, well done.

Pose with walking raised leg is really nice.
IQ is excellent as always.
I am not crazy about the BG especially that middle strip.
