I took this shot early morning whilst walking Barney, currently there are quite a few small skippers and meadow browns but very little else. I almost removed the top area of seed head but I decided to leave it as it was there, I think the skipper just about holds attention as the tip of the head is well out of focus.
All C&C welcome.

This is lovely, especially with the soft glow in the wings. I like the composition as is, the skipper is facing the seed head which has a graceful bend and subtly merges with the bkgd. Very nice delicate details in the skipper, showing the soft texture. Perfect bkgd of blurred dark greens.

Jon....I love the colors in this shot as well as the subtle details on the skipper. I like the way the perch fades out of focus into the bg. Nice work! TFS

Hi Jon, great detail on those wings, together with their gold tone. I dont feel the head is OOF, and like how the seed bends into the frame. BG works well too.

Thanks everyone, Stu my fault - poor grammar, I was referring to the head of the top seed.

Hi Jonathan, I agree with the comments above. A fine image with nice background and sharpness is terrific. I like the composition with the bending seed head. - Allen

Your typical sharpness, Jon. And nice, soft light--plenty of detail in shadowed portion of left wing. Like the BG and agree with not cropping the seed head. I would, however, crop 2/3 of the negative on right side of frame.
