A juvenile Sandhill Crane forages very close to his parents. It took a bit of patience to get a frame without the two parents in there, but it was worth it!

Excellent detail and great habitat. Your patience paid off with a nice frame; the only thing that would have improved it for me is a slightly better head angle.

Sharpness, colours, low angle all great. I'd get rid of the yellow OOF smudge in the FG and I agree with a better head angle. I would also take some off the bottom...I find leaving room for "virtual feet" in long-legged birds is not as essential in low shooting angles like here (key words "long legged" and "low angle")...

Agree with Daniel, even with the virtual legs, the image feels a little bottom heavy. Great soft light and sharpness. Head angle doesn't bug me.
Looking forward to more!

Thanks for the comments. I learned about 'virtual feet' here on BPN less than a year ago so it's only fitting that I finally know about virtual feet in these circumstances!
