This small Teal launched himself into the air, and I just like the way he looks like a jetliner on take off. Ive used the base of the splash as the rotation reference. Taken early morning at my local pond on saturday.

Stuart:

Always amazes me how easily most ducks launch, while my loons have to run along the surface like an underpowered bomber to get up.

Excellent pose, angle in frame, flying water.

To my eye, based on the splash, it may need a sliver more CW rotation, but not an easy call.

Great timing.

Cheers

Nice take off pose captured in a dynamic action shot, Stuart.

This is a shot that I try to shoot allot, I can say its not an easy one to time and get right with the water splashing in the back of the launching duck, so very well done Stuart.
Nice pose, eye contact and detail in this, especially for the shutter speed and I love the frozen water. Nice work.

excellent pose and timing on this one.
Exposure is wonderful and the splash adds great life to the image.
Agree with Randy on a slight CW rotation but very slight

Wonderful take off shot freezing the water drops. He looks very proud of himself. Nice job.

Thanks a stack for the feedback everyone, especially on the rotation. Here is my repost with an ever so slight CW rotation.

Hi Stuart,
I don't know about this one! I like the takeoff pose and the splash but I am not sure about the composition and where the bird is in the frame. What about a bit off the bottom and add more canvas on top?
I also wish there was a bit more detail in the far wing,
Gail
