This family was imaged a month ago. The chicks are about 7-8 days old, and really growing. A few more days and they will be evicted from the parent's back.

D4 600VR f/7.1 1/640s ISO 800 Pedestal mounted in the bottom of my little boat "Loonie Too"

Post: Selective sharpening, cleaned up the water a bit, toned down the brightness of the water behind the rear chick. The whites on the parents breast are at ~233, but not much detail because of the very soft light

Advice and comments always appreciated.

Cheers

Randy

The nice head angle on all 3 birds really makes this image. Techs are excellent.

Wow, this is just beautiful! Great view of all three birds, nice detail, and gorgeous water surrounding the birds. Very serene feel to this. I could look at this for a long time. :S3:

Lovely! For my taste the crop is just right, and I love that the reflection comes to an end before the bottom of the frame. The brighter yellow area is a lovely touch.

Hi Randy, the softest bus seat Ive ever seen - they sure look comfy. You have captured the soft plumage of the chicks nicely, mom and chicks well exposed, and once again, your low angle of capture has turned out well. The different hues of greens look great in the BG. Well captured.

This is a killer image, Randy!!! Wish it were mine. The way the 2 are lying down on the adult's back is just priceless and the greens are awesome!!!!

Like the texture in the head of the adult, Head angles of course, perfect DOF and varied green background. They all look pretty relaxed. Fantastic shot.

Wow Randy,

I can't imaging getting a photo with a mother and her two chicks ... but (as Doug mentioned), you got great head angles on each! Water color and texture is really a nice compliment to the photo. I like your choice of aspect ratio for this one.

Would love to see a photo of you in your Loonie Too!

Always Love your Loon shots and this one is exeptional. Love the way the young are on the backs of these beautiful birds. Great POV, background, and the details are wonderful.

I would also really enjoy seeing an image of your rig pedestal mounted in the bottom of your little boat "Loonie Too".

This is such a gorgeous photo. The detail is incredible. I like the positions of the babies and I love the soft light. I always seem to find the loons during times of harsh light.
