Posting this for the interesting stretch.....these guys can totally hide
that long neck in an "s" curve against their body.

400mm w/1.4x, ISO 800, 1/125, f/9
Thank for looking and any c/c

I like the angle of the pose on this one. The feathers on th eback and the shape of the subject make me think of the Olympic torch. Nice sharpness, good colors, and nice simple comp.

Hi Dave,
I'm starting to think you have a green heron "fetish"............and if you keep crooping tight like your previous posts........they're gonna' blame me ..........all kidding aside...........IMO........enough room and very nice pose!

thanks guys....there are 3 different herons in this area. Sometimes I wait for hours and never see one,
as they do have a lot of feeding area.

Roman, glad I left more space on this one....whew :)
And this is what subject is available right now....my regular area is flooded and inaccessible, so expect more gh for a while!

I would have to say that this is my favorite in your green heron series. Unusual pose that really works. Congrats!

I like the pose and soft light. You should name these guys. :) What is the darkish narrow band on the left side between BG and plumage?

thanks for input Axel.
Not sure about the dark band....I did remove a very small branch on left side and may have missed something. Will look at full res copy

Very cool pose. I might bump up the saturation a bit.
