Taken this morning this yellow dung fly sat on a nettle,every now and then it would remove some of the dew off its body,cannon 100mm macro is lens,36mm extension tube,7D,tripod,iso 500,F13,1/13S,small crop,and a touch of sharpening.thanks for looking.

Lovely image of an unfortunately named species. Soft light and BG work well here. Cool eye. Looks like you missed a dust spot near UR corner. Also may want to try a little noise reduction on the BG to see what you think. Is that a parasite (fungal?) where the abdomen meets the thorax?

Nice shot lovely colours. I would have taken the image at a slightly smaller magnification, this would have provided a little more DOF which is very limited at this size. I think I would also try a tad more sharpening. The early morning start is very worthwhile, the dew drops really enhance the image.
