On my recent trip to Alaska I visited the Alaska Sealife Centre in Seward, Alaska ( www.alaskasealife.org/ (http://www.alaskasealife.org/) ). They have a collection of seabirds in an open area that's fantastic for getting closeup images of marine birds. I took this auklet's image from about 4 feet using my 70 - 200 2.8 lens. It's easy to see how they get their name. I used a combination of effects, Topaz Clean, Nik Summer and Fotosketcher Pastel to achieve the desired look. I've posted the original image and a few of the better images from the 2 day Seward leg of my trip. I will post other images in the coming weeks of the other places I visited. Ciao for now.

This is a cool bird, Paul. I've never seen one and I like the different filters you used. I think I'd like to see a little more (just a little) of the original eye. I like the orange tones that are being picked up from the auk:S3: and the water.
