I spent a day photographing with Jim Neiger last November. This was captured in the Sandia Mountains while Jim was using bird-calls to attract the birds to us.

Nice detail on the Bird Doug! not to fond of the background though. but some times that cannot be helped. I was playing my Bird-Jam and one of these flew at me landed on my camera and then jumped up on my head.

Great capture of a quick little bird. Great detail on the bird, and a charismatic perch. The background doesn't bother me...

Hi Doug,
IMO the BG is OK (athough I would work on blending the branch shadow in the BG)....... and the bird is VG.....my only wish is to see the tail (no contol over that)...........so overall.........it's a fine keeper!

Nice detail in the bird. I like the simplicity of the image.

Good eye contact and head angle. Really a clean, sharp image and one of my favorite birds. Great job. The BG is fine with me too. Personally, I like backgrounds that have some texture...it just adds the realism of where the bird was, and I enjoy that.

Hi Doug I like the intense pose and perch I think the same bg without the dark tone would be better Do like it as presented !!!
