Taken on my exploratory to Iceland a few weeks ago. My tour in 2014 is already sold out but you can PM or e-mail me if I add another one. I spent 2 weeks in only the southern part of the country. It is a spectacular location for any landscaper!!!

I blended two exposures manually....one for sky and one for the foreground.

All tripod mounted, Sigma 12-24mm @ 12mm at ISO 400 and f/22 Saved at 74Q to fit.

Hi Roman

And a spectacular image from the spectacular location...! This is beautiful, love the colour, both in the sky and on the ground. I also like the composition, especially how the perspective on the upper and lower edges of the cliff draws you into the waterfall. The whole image is also anchored nicely by the peak.. It all just flows so well...

I am curious why you used F22... Was the LHS quite close??

Thanks for showing this..

Hey Don,
Thanks! Yes, I was very close to the edge of the falls but that wasn't the only reason for f/22! I captured this scene from f/11 - f/22 and ISO 100 - ISO 640. Why?.......partly to assure it was sharp all way through and partly to get the look I desired on the water! When you are privileged to bear witness to such a scene.......I make sure I cover all the bases! Doesn't take long to ensure this with auto bracket!

Hi Roman - stunning scene and expertly captured. Great dof, blurred water and I like the water flowing out of the frame in the llc. Excellent comp. No crits from me.

Hi Roman, very cool image, don't think I can add much more. :bg3: Did you do any close-ups of the actual falls themselves, just a nice vertical perhaps? Good choice on ensuring the water has that nice 'fluid/liquid' look, 1-4 secs exp?

Thanks all! Steve.....I think it was closer to 1/8 sec. Flow was heavy! I did do just a vert and wider...tighter...from up top....down below.....well....you get the picture!

Looks like you had a great trip, Roman!
Love everything about this - what a classic spot... :5
Might add a hint more LCE overall? WDYT?

Why did you not go north as well? I understand it's even more scenic?

Hi Roman

Thanks for the explanation :5 F22 because you were looking for different shutter options to get the waterfall 'look' correct. Makes sense and adds weight to the thought "I must get some ND filters.."

Hey Roman, glad to see you posting here again. I think this is a real cracker, wouldn't change a thing. I also like your thinking, using f22 work very nicely, nice work.

Will explore the LCE Morkel. Most people do a tour of the entire country in 2 weeks. IMO....lot's of driving and not as many photo opportunities. I will check out the north next year after my tours there.......and then possible have 1 north and 1 south! I will also be doing a winter one in 2015!

Gorgeous! All the good points have already been enumerated! Perfect blur on the water, for me.
