Thanks for the comments on the last post, will take a look at the rotation.

Just taking a break from shooting this week so I thought I would stretch my legs in here. :bg3: This is taken from the bow of the ship, looking down. Don't ask about the techs, DOH!:Whoa!: The issue I guess with a wide lens is the slight curvature, although you can correct in PP.

Dramatic image, Steve...for shots like this I actually prefer some curve to the horizon to give you that quasi-fisheye feel.
Good tones and contrast overall. Will make a VERY nice monochrome too :5

Steve - I agree that it is a dramatic image. I like the perspective and all the detail in the ice as well as the lines of the clouds. Well done.

Rachel

Hey Steve,

I like the perspective and color in the ice.....maybe a little lighter on the sky in the UL? Brave at 1/60 sec on a boat!

Give it a whirl Morkel, always open to new thoughts :w3

Well over to you now Rachel, looking for big things in August!

Hey Roman, long time no hear :bg3:
Brave at 1/60 sec on a boat! - More, 'old man' living on the edge, LOL.

Hi Steve, love this shot and the curvature too. I have been away playing around with a 15mm fisheye lens this past week so I am really liking the rounded horizon. Roman makes a good suggestion on brightening up the upper left corner a bit.

Here's an attempt, Steve...

Converted using PS, added very slight blue toning, went for stark whites and blacks.
WDYT?

Hi Steve... this is truly beautiful... so enjoy the simplicity of the image... classic comp and great depth... you defiantly feel the cold!
Must say I am a monochrome fan... but I actully enjoy the colour more... although the mono version of Morkel does show that it would make a great b/w image... WD!
