Most of the passerines have now started to fledge. Greenfinches are one of my favourites. This one was calling for its food quite early in the morning

Cloned out a few thorns
Noise reduction on BG and Levels and USM on the bird. Toned down perch slightly with a grey layer

SHANE:

Your bird is sharp and well exposed, nice details, like the 'scales' on the feet.

For my taste, the bg is too bright in relationship to the bird. I might run a luminosity layer on the background using the multiply blend mode to tone it down a bit.

The spike above the back is a bit distracting, but adjusting the bg should help that also.

I might tinker with the amount of space on the left. I would be tempted to take a small amount of from that side.

Cheers

Randy

Good points by Randy. I also would warm up the WB to get rid of the shaded bluish cast on the plumage. Nice profile pose and sharpness.

Thanks, will try and reprocess this with those few pointers and see what comes out!
