I got out for a brief outing between rainstorms the other evening, and came across this guy right near my car. Removed one blade of grass; desaturated yellows slightly. C&C appreciated.

Super detail you have pulled out on this CY, Bill. I really like the soft green of the setting and the food in its bill. Super comp.

Great photo of this bird in it's element.
Pose is terrific, DOF perfect to get the tail in focus, and a perfect setting.
One of the best photo's of this species I have seen.

great photo: great detail, pose and exposure Like the stalk with grain on it,that is parallel to the bird. would wonder about less space on the bottom and little more on top

Wonderful shot.
I really like the view of it's environment. Especially the water drops on the leaves in the background.
Terrific pose, excellent details, and great timing getting it with it's meal.
Very well done.

The visual flow of this image rocks...especially the flow of the habitat elements. Excellent subject
pose/head angle. Technically solid image. Of course, I'm curious about where the one removed
blade of grass was, but your pp is too good to know... :)

Beautiful inquisitive pose with beautiful colors.I like the faint/soft BG on which bird pops up nicely.
Very nice composition. Love the frame, Bill Sir.

Satish.

Oh man Bill, what a wonderful image!! Great setting, comp, pose, colours. The only thing that negatively catches my attention is the water drop (?) almost touching the subject's head...I'd remove that one. but all else is fantastic and highly appealing!

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the comments.

Shawn: Here's a prior version including the horizontal blade of grass on the left that I cloned out because it interfered with the flow. I also cropped a little from the top of this image before posting the OP.

Wow, amazing job on the grass blade removal!! It does indeed improve the flow of the composition.

A super species for me. Nice details, light and pose. The wet grass adds a lot to the image's mood, well done!
