Shot this yesterday morning with a new (to me) 500 f4. Same treatment plant I've been going to. That extra 100mm makes all the difference. All C&C always welcome.
Techs:

500 f4 with 1.4 HH
ISO 1600
f/5.6

Way Nice!
The BG is just awesome.
Maybe a touch more sharpening to the head?

Hi Lyle, well exposed, and we have a great view of the far wing. Having said that a better near wing position would have put this up a few notches. The stilt pops so well against the sweet BG.

Gorgeous in all regards. You nailed the exposure imo. I enjoy the mud on the feet, as a nice detail.

Fantastic pose and background!! Lovely colours. I agree a bit more sharpening for web presentation would be good.
Congrats on the new toy! Although the IQ is better with this lens (I compare with my 100-400) I feel the extra reach, especially combined with an extender, is the main benefit...you'll enjoy it!!

Thanks, totally agree on the extra focal length. IQ is better but not world changing.
