Tricky night at Nickerson with a strong on shore breeze. The common terns were diving into the surf to gather tidbits. This image is a healthy crop (Maybe 40%) but am happy with the behavior.

I would not have noticed the crop at all.
Very nice light, pose and prey.
The IQ looks fine to me.

Gorgeous image of beautiful bird.Wonderful pose with full stretched wings showing nice details in under wing and dorsal wing.
Love the extremely beautiful lights and 3D effect caused by BF with foam line and FG. Prey is bonus.Great composition with great IQ.

Satish.

Beautiful pose indeed, and such lovely light on the subject, I love the glint in the eye and the feet barely lifting off the ground , nice detail on the wings-stunning!

Lovely - really like the background as well which complements the shape of the tern.

Beautiful evening light, superb detail on the raised wings, and you captured him at the exact moment of lift-off. Just the right amount of environment, and the prey is an added bonus. The dark blobs on the wet sand, especially around the tail, are a mild distraction but not enough to mar a lovely image.

Very nice, as already stated. Feels to me like it might use a slight CCW rotation. And would be interesting to see more of the reflection.

Lovely capture, Grace. Whites and blacks look awesome. Tidbit a nice plus, as are the light, the foams and the curves in the surf. I am with Diane on the CCW rotation but wouldn't have noticed unless she hadn't mentioned it.

Sweet light quality. Great scene overall, well composed. Fortunate how that foam line moves through the frame
and transects the bird in a rather optimal spot.
