Hi -

Here is a different image from the same series. I used this image and made some changes that everyone suggested.

I chose a vertical crop to cut out most of the extra bright leaves at bottom right.

Noise reduction on bg
Burned the right side of the bird.
Adjusted the color balance to remove some of the bluish hue
Sharpened the owl's face and brightened the eyes

Still maybe too much noise in bg.

Thanks, Ashleigh :S3:

Firstly I'm envious of any Owl image, those eyes are amazing. The side lighting is still a little strong here and there and i think you may be right about adding another round of noise reduction to the backdrop. I might also consider another round of sharpening to the bird only as it does look a little soft but at 1/80sec it's not surprising......I think at the time of shooting going for a wider aperture setting than f5.6 and upping the ISO for better shutter speed would of helped { easier said than done :w3 }

Nice shot.
Love the stare and that you captured it in it's habitat.
The side lighting is a bit strong, but it's not bad. Agree on some more NR on the background.
Well done.
