Made in the Little Rann of Kutch, Gujarat. These birds are winter migrants to India, mainly to the North.
Not the best in terms of aesthetics, but sharing the image nevertheless as we don't come across these birds every day.
Made with a Canon 550D + Sigma 150-500mm

Impressive bird Girish, such a regal pose you have captured and nice clean shot . The intense eye stare is excellent and some very nice detail showing in those feathers. It must be very pleasing to get such a wonderful image of a not very common visitor to your part of the world.

I presume this was early morning or late afternoon due to the golden color tones, while it is a lovely effect i cant help but wonder if the color is a little strong all over and maybe a tweak with white balance would reduce it a little and also bring out a little more detail at the same time

Very nicely done. EXP and SH right on. A bit less head turn would have been best for this over-the-shoulder pose--square to the imaging sensor is ideal in these situations.
