I like it Alexander and you are right about the look !!!

Good exposure and head angle If its fine with you might remove some of the bright highlights on the beak Not sure if it was possible but an even tighter crop could have made an even stronger image !!!! Excellent !!!

Come on, the bird looks gorgeous :)
Never seen a head picture of a Grebe, great detail in the blacks and that eye is to die for.
I'd take some off the left and if your ethics allow it, get rid of the bill shine.
