This shot was taken at a lek in Colorado at very first light, April 30th.
I shot it
Handheld
ISO 3200,
f/7.1,
1/1600
500mm.
I was using a Canon 5Diii and 500mm f/4
One of the best natural history experiences I have ever had.

Great job capturing the interaction!
Image seems a bit dull/flat. Might try boosting the mid-tones and/or contrast a bit.
Also a bit tight on the top, right, and bottom for my taste.

I like the interaction .
I would warm the picture up a tad and give the image a bit more room on the top,

i like the picture for the composition, you had a difficult situation of one bird in air and you composed this one lovely
love this one, as suggested above warming the image may pop it up a bit more

Color critiques noted, the high ISO is the culprit, but an easy fix.
Congrats from me for just posting these unique birds and nice action at that.

Looks like you got both very well in focus, and caught great action -- kudos!

Thanks guys,
Mike, I take your point. I played around and warmed up the image which makes the image seem more appealing. I remember freezing my pants off that morning so I will put the better image in my gallery but have one with a colder look printed for my memory.
Cheers,
Iain
