Hi Gary, You have done well to capture this bird sharp when it was flying. I would try to tone down the background to extract some color from it and maybe clone out the shadow as only half of the shadow is only visible. Did you crop from the bottom ? Do you use Lightroom / photoshop ?

Thanks for the advice I will try it now. I use photoshop. Did not crop from the bottom. That was the bottom... :)
I will try and repost.

Added a curves mask and towned down. Also used content aware to get rid of the shadow.
Denoised the background. Need to spend some tine on the water to make it look better where I used content aware.
Will do later.

Hi Gary, use the clone stamp tool copy from the right or left in line with the area and the shadow can be covered. The bird could be darkened .

Yes, I alway over look the darkening of the bird. Using the black's. Really makes the bird pop out.
Tip on cloning is appreciated and will try it now.
All the best,
Gary

Gary, You can isolate the background in a different layer and then use dodge and burn and maybe darken the background.

Thnks for the tip.
BTW, am heading to the India embassy here in a few days and try to get a visa.
Just, future planning. I hope to visit your country next winter? Not absolutely sure now how it will work out.
