I've been adjusting my canon 500mII with a 1dx. I like to carry a spare multiplier (both markIII 2x) with me. It was my understanding that you could microadjust a lens with only one multipler of a given magnification so I've only adjusted the camera body with the lens in combination with what I considered my "primary" multipler and never with the "backup". I tried it today however and got two different results as one would expect. When I go back and reattach a particular combination (primary or backup indivually not stacked), the camera seems to recognize not only the lens but whether the primary or backup multipler is attached changing the adjustment accordingly. Can the newer canon cameras do that now?

yes, the 1DX tracks TC by its serial number.

Thanks. It looks like the 5D3 does as well. Wanted to make sure.

I had the experience in the past where I was using a 2x converter with a lens canon said not to use with it. The on board computer I guess did not know what to do. It worked but everything was over exposed 1 to 2/3 of a stop.

Wanted to make sure the microadjusment was not doing the same thing, looking like it worked but giving wrong answers.

Again, thanks for the help.
