This warbler species of warblers behaves like a Nuthatch,
moving up and down and around tree trunks and large limbs looking for food barely ever stops.
This image is from Ohio.
Thanks for looking.

A fun species to observe...always fun to watch them climb along tree trunks! Yes, the perch is a bit large, a bit better HA would have been preferable (IMO). Good details and a job well done on the techs. Nice green BG!

Hi Karl, well exposed, and I do like the view of his left foot showing how is holding onto the perch. Lovely smooth BG.

Another nice warbler, Karl; one of my favorite warblers, in fact. Lovely bg. My first reaction was also that the perch was a bit large for this little guy, until it occurred to me that he spends his time climbing around on tree trunks and large branches. So in this case, it seems to make sense.

Karl,

Very nicely captured. Yep, a bit large of a perch, but that's where he landed so I'd take it!

I might clean up the lower catchlight in the eye. Otherwise a keeper!

I'm really enjoying your warbler shots Karl, these guys definitely aren't easy to get where you want them! Nice use of flash. I'd probably eliminate the lower, darker catchlight.

Excellent image Karl! I like the pose, wind blown feathers, exposure control, BG and composition. Lower catch light already mentioned. Looks like you found a lot of warblers this season.
