Excellent exposure on the youngster, good detail. I know that they hang out in the thick stuff, good to get a shot like this with no distractions in front of him.

Nice having a clean view of the chick with good sharpness. I think I would have copped out the water highlight at the bottom of the frame as it competes with the subject for the viewers attention plus having the subject a little larger in the frame helps emphasis on subject compared to the cluttered BG

This image will explain why I've yet to photograph one of these...or even to see one as of yet. Great score finding this little one among the reeds, I rather like the busy, but natural habitat comp in this one. All looks nicely sharp and well exposed, my only thought would be to crop a little harder

Sure, a cluttered background, but that's where they are found (if at all). Nice job of getting a clean shot of him.

Love the colors and feathers on that guy.
