Green Cay shot @ 4/30/2008
Got this shot from the boardwalk, the male was carving a cavity on a palm tree, hope they nest here since this is close to the boardwalk.

40D, 500mm f/4 IS,
1/640, F5, ISO 640, late afternoon light, heavy crop

Comments and recommendations are welcome.

Hi Raul,
Love the composition and action. A few of the whites look hot (sun peeking through???).........but not enough to detract from the image. You may want to lighten the eye a bit just for added imapct. Well done,
Roman
PS I love the tight crop.......but i will be in the minority

Raul, I really like this image since it shows me a new species that I donīt know. I wonder if you used fill flash since it would have helped by giving a uniform light to the subjec. As you see, there is light on the lower part of the body but the face lacks of light, I would love to see some on the face and eye, other than that is a great image with a great clean BG and details.
