The oldest plantation in Georgia about 10 miles outside of Savannah.

Superb Dan, love the depth and greenery with the road running through the center. Not sure but would try adding some more mid tone contrast. A little more punch would improve a already excellent image, nice work.

I really like the wide-angle look here, although I see it's 70mm. Looks wider, especially in the vertical. I'm planning to shoot this in 2-3 weeks -- last time I was there the leaves weren't out enough.

Diane,
Since the road is a couple miles long, you don't need a wide angle to achieve a wide angle look.
I was just focusing down the road a bit and a tele lens shortens the DOF to achieve the same result.
I used a 70-200 f2.8 because it was the best lens I traveled with and I did not need a tripod
because of the VR capabilities.
My landscape lens I traveled with, an 18-105 is a nice lens, but the width of the road is such
that the wider angle was no use.
A beautiful road, hope you enjoy it and the Savannah area, it is a beautiful part of the country.

Hi Dan, love the branches over-hanging the road and all the moss too. Very nice perspective...I see lots of great variations that would be possible here. Nice work!

Love these types of "lanes". Nice greens too, Dan.
I think it can stand a hint more punch? Have you added some LCE yet? :tinysmile_shy_t:

It's a bit similar, as concept, to 'dark Hedges' by Sinclair , 1°award in Praise of plants in W.Ph.of the year n.17. lovely!

I don't know much about landscapes, but love this image and the lines of the branches.
