...and shoot from below the nest. I was blessed with this opportunity to follow this family for the last two weeks. There are times I have to shoot from the roof of the house, pickup truck or on a 20ft ladder to get close or best angle.
Tried something different by shooting straight up the nest with the 24-105L lens. I was happy with the results. I am looking forward to their return next season....

he almost looks fake. Nice job on the bird. What a great opportunity to shoot these guys. I wish the sky wasn't blown. I think I would crop a bit off the bottom.

Nick, someone has mentioned to me that a blue sky would be nice. I agree. :) I wonder in a normal day with blue sky, could it be achieve in a single exposure?

I guess we can't always get everything perfect. Either way this is a great shot of this cool looking little guy!

That little owl looks like a child's toy, excellent sharpness and I like the shooting angle.

I asked for eye contact - you delivered!
Did you use flash?

This is a creative example of making a very cool image in less than perfect conditions.

I am with James on this one, Troy. I love the out of the box thinking you used, and I find the BG goes well with your subject and awesome tree. Good use of flash, although not mentioned. Looking forward to more creativity.

Sweet little thin. I do like the different angle and it worked here. Nice work with the exposure
