Shot this down in Galveston. A colony was bathing and resting and a few would fly by after they bathed. They were too wary to allow me to approach very close, so I kept my distance and waited for them to fly by. This is full frame, added a little canvas to the top. All C&C appreciated.

Nice slight head turn and wing position. The blue sky sets this one off nicely too.

Nice image Lyle. Although the bird is flying away from you the HA makes the image work. I like the sharpness, exposure and composition. I see a bit of a sharpening halo around the head.

It has passed you or turned away from you but the nice head turn saved the shot. Nice flight shot, Lyle.

Whoa, tried a new way of sharpening. Definitely took it too far, don't know how I missed that halo. It looked oversharpened to me, but I'm bad about undersharpening. Thanks for the feedback.

Wish the bird weren't flying away. If you can photograph the birds a little sooner or make sure you have the right wind for flight shots it's most helpful. Sharpening halo mentioned. Expo looks good.

Hi Lyle, good near wing position, and a good head turn towards you. Sometimes, vertical crops work best with these 'high' wing positions. Well exposed, and sharpening halo mentioned.
