Photographed yesterday early A.M. during yet another spring snowstorm. However, during bad weather I find that the birds are less jumpy as they are very interested in food. Normally the Stellar's Jays take flight if you point a camera their way. I photographed through an open 2nd floor window above the seed & suet feeders, using the window frame for support. The bkgd trees are aspen.

Amazing details and colors on your jay, Nancy. Love the head turn. Wish he weren't quite so large in the frame.

Liking very much the light in the eye with the great head turn...from an arid lands Aussies point of view = I like the snow on the branch. Maybe a bit big in the frame, but the detail is rather nice

Great job on the exposure Nancy. Killer feather detail and the eye is very crisp. I like the tighter crop although I would add some to the top. Nice work,

Thanks all! Actually I was surprised that the jay was in focus since I was sure it was too close! David, thanks for the suggestion to add to the top, easy to do.

I too find it tight in the frame but I do like the details and love the blue colour. I also like the wintery feel to the image (altough I'm gladly done with winter for this season...)

Thank you for the feedback. I'll go back to the original and re-crop with more space.
