I made this image at a behind-the-scenes tour of Bush Gardens in Tampa a few months ago. I regret the leaf was mostly eaten before I captured this image. There was a nice blue sky that morning and I tried to frame as close as possible and still tell the story- to see how much I could cut. This image is uncropped. A study in minimalism. I guess you could say this also includes the "hand of man"!!

Photographed with a Canon 1d MK II n, Canon 28-135mm IS lens at 75mm, ISO 400, f/10 @ 1/640 sec, 580ex flash at -1 for a little fill against the sky.

I like this shot and it really does tell a story. I agree that it is too bad about the leaf, but that is pretty minor.

Cool idea that works well. Use of the flash makes it leap out of the BG.

Very nice idea, Jim.
Wish I cold see the eye.

I like it as presented Jim. Looks very creative. I personally think showing eye will dilute the uniqueness of this image.

Have to agree with Ganesh. The story here is the interaction of a tounge with a hand. A little more leaf would have been nice. But what a great concept, and bravo on the execution. Tried for a shot like this at a place in Pennsylvania several years ago. Too dark then, and just never got the right angle. You, however, got it right.
