I have been very busy lately, so not much participation here. This little chickadee was harassing a red bellied woodpecker that was coming to a setup. The chickadee landed beside me in the woods and gave me this pose, looking like he was thinking "you want some too?" D800, 300mm, 1.4tc, tripod. 1/160 at f6.3, iso 1000, flash. Cropped, adj. wb and exposure in ACR. Removed some clutter and usm in CS6.

HI Jack, Nice HA with wonderful detail on the subject. I would crop this from the bottom and right if it were mine

Beautiful shot! I love the rhythmic line of the branch with leaves that the chickadee is perched on. But the vertical branch is somewhat distracting. I'd crop like this, and clone out the two diagonal branches in the LL.

Some people don't like square formats but that's what nature gave you here.

Lovely capture. Love the bird against those greens and he has a very nice pose. I would crop like this if it were mine, putting the bird in the UR third.

Awesome! Great pose with a perfect head angle and the tail spread is very nice. Nice habitat with new fresh greenery. I actually like the OP comp best. The only thing is that I see a greenish cast on the subject - likely due to the surroundings. Super nice:S3:

Thanks everyone. Although I like both alternative crops I will stick with the original. The bird's eye is almost exactly on the upper right thirds intersection. The vertical branch on the left is very close to the left vertical third. Thanks.

Good call on the green cast by Daniel. I totally missed that. All crops work. It's really just a matter of personal preference, and lucky we all have a different eye which makes it more fun.
