From my trip to Western Australia. I found this little grasshopper nymph after a long hike through Murchison River Gorge. The hopper blended in nicely with the reddish rocks of the canyon.

D7000, Nikkor 200mm micro, handheld, iso-400, f/5.6, 1/1600 sec, -0.7 EC. Cropped and sharpened.

Hi Jerry. This is a cool looking little hopper! I like the low shooting angle, the pose, the comp, and the way the nymph is isolated from the background. Good sharpness within your DOF - I would just wish for more depth to get the legs a little sharper. Looking at your shooting specs, it appears you had some leeway to up your f/stop to about f/11 while maintaining sufficient ss. :S3:

Thanks Steve, good point about the aperture. I had to think and act quick, because this little fellow was on the move, and I forgot to check my settings in the spur of the moment.
