From the Circle B in Lakeland Florida
This guy was in a small ravine near the walking path and was mostly in shadow hence the very high ISO needed to get barely minimum needed shutter speed and aperture for good dof

The image has a painterly quality. I love the ripples in the water. With that the vertical part of the perch were not there.... 1/320 is way, way, way above "minimum needed shutter speed." With practice at 700mm (assuming the old 500) you should be making sharp images at 1/60 sec. 1/30 is possible even with the old 500. Looks great for ISO 4000. Nice image design as well.

It is amazing that you can shoot with ISO 4000 and no noise. I really like the lighting effect on the bird and part of the canvas. Looks sharp and well exposed.

This image does have a painterly feeling which I very much like. It appears the NR used probably smoothed out your feathers some which is giving us the painterly feel.

For ISO 4000 this is really stunning image...love the POV and how those ripples in water add to the image..

This is so pretty. I love the contrast, colors, ripples and painterly feel. Just wish there was more feather detail in the wing area, however at that ISO, might not be possible after noise reduction.

I like the image design and the bird etc. In truth, I think the treatment to the background (I think I am correct is saying that) makes the image look a little unnatural or odd IMHO. I think you need another go at it.
