This was taken at a local Nature Center this past winter. I like the snowy beak because it shows how they poke around the snow covered ground. Seed was used as an attractant. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

I love it when a common species is beautifully presented, as you have, Jim.
Love the snow covered bill and the alert pose. Nice complementary bg. Comp is perfect for the perch size.

I too love the snow on the bill! Snow-sprinkled perch looks good too, and a very pleasant BG.

Now that's the kind of fine detail I relish in an image, very nice especially with snow on the beak

Ditto all the positives above plus I love the the way that the snow is laid out on the perch.

The snow really makes this special.
I might trade some higher ISO for a bit more DOF.
You make these common feeder birds look very nice.

Hi Jim, lovely detail and colours on the sparrow, and of course, the snow covered beak puts this up a few notches. An opportunity well used.

Great image. I agree that the snow on the beak is the killer detail in this frame.
Handsome individual with a nice dark central breast spot. Exposure work is spot on.
The image exhibits a visual style easily recognized as yours.
A consideration would be to crop out or remove the snow spot on the bottom edge
of the frame right under your signature.
