Zion National Park, 2005. I had this image in my mind for years waiting for it to appear before me, and finally there is was, and the lighting conditions were perfect. I spent well over an hour with this subject, and made this image with my Ebony SV45U and a Rodenstock 90mm on Fuji Astia. Drum scanned at Mark Muench's studio. It is one of my most important images.

I like how you designed the composition as to where the branches enter and exit the frame - nice harmony to that. The contrast between the rock face and tree makes the image.

Ditto to all the above,......especially Reobert's observations.

Exceptionally graphic image Jeff. Having the branches exit the image at all angles makes for a nice composition (nothing cut by accident). And the deep red colors really accentuate the gray of the tree. Easy to see why it is so important to you.

Outstanding work. The look of the monochromaitc wood against the deep rich colors and texture of the rockface creates a wonderful contrast and dimensional quality. Truly exceptional work. One of my favorites.

Superb work. I agree with all the well-deserved praise. My only nit is that the outer frame is a bit overpowering.
