Soft light and I like the subtle backlighting as well, good pose, interesting perch, seems to me that I may have seen the orange bits before :S3:. Even with this angle of gaze, I could see a sliver off the top and the right side.

A lovely image with the bird exhibiting a hint of backlighting with its attentive stare. I might tone down the fungi just a touch so that it does not compete with the bird.

Very nice subject with alert and perky pose, pleasing perch that allows us still to see the birds tiny feet. The back lighting is a pleasing as well.

All the way from the land of the Pixies and Fairies by the look of this lovely composition and subject Jonathon.....................sharp detail as is usual from you garden shots and liking his little aloof posture, perch and backdrop to die for....great as is, but with such fine detail evident I may also consider cropping a little tighter

i find the composition very interesting, the light is so soft and wonderful making all the details so very beautiful
i like the head angle and the perch is lovely ( the subject of a macro)
Over all the frame has a wonderful array of colors making it very interesting to the eye

Thanks very much for the C&C everyone, glad you liked it. My initial reaction was to crop a little tighter but I wanted to emphasise the diminutive size of the bird, maybe I should have gone tighter as you say or eben made the image a tad more pano.

I like the subtle back lighting. Cool little bird. I agree with the tighter crop and think the perch helps to show the size of the little guy.

Gorgeous and visually interesting perch. Bird is lovely in it's own right, and GREAT pose.
