I admit it.........I'm addicted to f32! Got out today to do some macro shooting. Some weed grows all over the forest.......low ground cover about 3/4 of an inch big..... Windy...I did do a couple today at f3.5......but I like the massive DOF ones better. Mark 3, ISO 1250 1/60 sec at f32...handheld with the MT24 twin lights at minus 2/3.
As always comments welcomed and appreciated,
Roman

Roman, This is one beautifull image and composition, love the soft pale blue hue of your flower and the details of the petals...:D

Roman, I like the tiny apertures, too, for the same reasons. I've always read about the center aperture settings being the sweet spot of any lens and the degradation you'll get at the high end. Frankly, I think that with modern lenses, that is not noticeable. I often use f22, the minimum opening, on my 24-70 and 16-35 for landscape DOF. Seems to work fine.

Oh, that's a real purty flower. Nice work.

Hmm, I need a flash to try this out. I really like this. I might try to de-muddy the greens a little.

Love the comp on this image Roman, very cool looking and the subject is a perfect choice!!

To make the image even better I would apply some selective sharpening, It I think there is a lot more detail there.

Paul the greens are a side effect of the aperture. The correct exposure for the greens, the ambient exposure, is probably F3.5, so F32 is a few stops off.

I believe I saw an ad somewhere for f/32 Anonymous. I'll dig it out for you. :D

The image looks excellent to me Roman. I like the color, detail and composition a lot. I would be interested in seeing one of the f/3.5 images as a point of comparison since I lean toward shooting more open. Just curious. If you have a few minutes to add one to the thread, it would be nice.
