From my perch in the rocks of the Barnegat Jetty last week. Unfortunately, its tough to get much lower than this at that site. I liked the way he flipped the water off his tail when he surfaced.

D7000, 700mm, ISO 800, 1/3200s @ f/8 manual, Gitzo and Mongoose. Full-width except for slight rotation, cropped to pano.

Great details and perfect exposure on this difficult bird, Bill. We are in the same position at around Lake Ontario; not much chance to go lower.

Fantastic image, Bill. Techs are perfect, but there are three things here that take this image over the top for me. The subtle head turn, the droplet below the bill and that trail of droplets from the tail flip.
Exceptionally good.

Superb image, Bill, the best so far of yours from Barnegat.
I certainly like the string of pearl water drops around the tail.
well done.

Nice job on this one. The exposure looks good. Like the water slinging off his tail. Nice job. Are their still a lot of these guys at the jetty? May head down there this week?

I was there a week ago, Nick, and there were plenty of them then.

Wonderful image, all things about it look fantastic
the spin of the tail and the trail of water drops does add a lot to the image

Nice shot Bill. The techs look great and the detail is beautiful. The water off the tail is so cool, makes the shot unique. Well captured

Sweet little thing. I like the water trail at the tail and the drop coming off the mouth.
