Hi Frank, I like how you managed to capture the egret in the opening between the foliage. Good walking pose with the raised foot, and the hint of snow adds to the image.

When I first saw this image from my iPad, I was trying to figure out how the water splash happened. It didn't but the snow apparently did! Love the hint of snow. It adds so much to the image. Agree with Stuart on how well you composed this with the bird in just the right opening. It's a very pleasing environmental image.

I love that BG. Nice mid-stride on ice photo. The ice looks pretty thick too; must have been an unexpected freeze.

I like the pose, captured mid-stride , and excellent use of the opening in the marsh to frame the bird.
the ice texture is quite interesting and caused a second look for me; it looked like glass beads to me.
Very well done!

Not what we would ever see here in Australia...we've just had the hottest Summer on record.

Liking this Frank especially with the reeds in the background, very natural...the snow adds another great point of interest and i like the way it makes the water surface look grainy and interesting

Well done to capture the heron in stride, in the great little break of the bg grasses. Very nicely composed image.
Light quality is soft and pleasing.
