Looks sharp enough. EXP looks good; face a bit bright. The big problem is having the bird right on the light/dark line.... Ideally this would have all been against the dark green BKGR with the bird flying a bit more toward you.

Hi no I like this one the most I have 100's with all dark or light backgrounds.

You are free to like what you want to like but having the dark light line in the center and having it intersect the bird goes against several principles of image design. Dark above/light below images rarely work as the eye is drawn to the light area. This one simply does not work well.

Principles of image design are made to be broken or should we just go on posting the same old old old rubbish and not try to think out of the box.

Phil, I realize that rules are only guidelines and I often encourage folks to break them and break them myself often. But the rules if you would and guidelines exist because they often work well. Breaking the rules without a reason never makes sense to me. You have your mind made up that this is a wonderful image so lets leave it at that.

Envious you have managed a shot of a barn Owl during daylight hours and it really is quite sharp, lovely natural colors added as well, very smooth simplistic backdrop, can see Arthurs point, but I dont find it hurts the image much at all........wish it were my shot.
