From the dramatic Coast of Portugal, Porto Covo.
This Turnstone was captured strolling along the clifftop promenade.
Crop as a pano as I wanted the sky/flowers off the cliff edge aqs well as some of the worn pavement in the shot.
Using layers in CS6 to apply NR and sharpness

Nice image. Love the raised foot and the overall position. I'm not sure about the choice of crop.

Nice walking pose.
I would crop from the bottom and left and add more of the flowers and sky at top.
Whites look good,
Gail

Nice image, the bird looks sharp, the raised foot adds interest
I would prefer a closer crop on this one to highlight the bird more, its a cool bird we get them here as migrants and now when they are in the mode of migrating they are getting their breeding coats, which look fantastic

I enjoy this wider view. Nice bright light quality. If you have it in the original, Gail's suggestion
of taking some off the bottom and having a bit more space on top, sounds like a nice tweak.
High marks scored for originality here imo.

Hi all

thanks for the crits.

Here I have recropped , having the room to do so. Ocean is now at max available and may well be too much the other way!
That blue, and the yellow flowers, is pretty intense but true to life. Exposure has not been changed.

Hi Richard, the Turnstone in your OP is really sharp, and well timed to get the raised foot. Your repost works better with more of the BG on top, but I would still come in from the right, and maybe have had more space behind him, as in your OP.:w3

I really like this and think it's worth incorporating Stuart's suggestion to have a bit more behind and a bit off the front. Great colors, exposure, and nice habitat shot.
