I went out to Ft Island Beach (FL gulf coast) this evening looking for Comet Pan-STARRS. There was too much haze and the comet was nowhere to be found. So, I played with blurs :S3:

I like the blur, the soft colors, composition, and the curve. The dark cloud looks like a plane or giant bird in flight.

Beautiful composition and lovely soft colors Maureen! This is one of the nicest landscape blurs I've seen.

Simple and elegant. Perhaps a bit off the top.

Good suggestion. When I originally looked at the composition, taking some off the top was my reaction, too. I try to work to divine proportions, and the horizon was below the lower DP line. However, lots of people use the rule of thirds approximation, which fits the horizon in this case, and the brownish/pinkish band in the sky nearly ends at a DP line. When I saw your comment, I looked at the image, again, and I like your suggestion about cropping from the top. If the right amount were removed, both the horizon and the midline of the dark cloud would pretty much coincide with direct proportions.

I love the soft pastel colors and the "flow" of it all. Nicely done. A little off the top wouldn't hurt, but it's nice either way to me.

Thanks for the comments. With all due respect to Mr. Fibonacci, I prefer my crop :S3:

This blur has an abstract quality. Very nice. Congratulations.
