Taken a couple years ago at Ding Darling in mid-morning.

Canon 7D, ISO 400
500 mm f/4L IS + EF 1.4x TC II
1/1250 sec. @ f/9.0; AV mode, evaluative metering at 0 EV EC. No flash.

PP in LR 4.3. Tripod with gimbal head. Almost full frame, but cropped for composition. A little sharpening, clarity, contrast, vibrance and saturation enhancements. Because it's a vertical, I had to resize down to 629 by 800. Hope it's not too small.

Thanks for any comments, which are always encouraged and appreciated.

I really like the colours and the nice details in this image, Dennis.

Hi Dennis. This turned out well for mid-morning light! Also, nice comp, DOF, and head angle. Nicely done!

I like the colours and feather patterns on this individual. Great details and good exposure (not much you could do about the blacks on the rear). The combination of this particular pose and size of the bird in the frame would have lent itself better as a horizontal composition IMO, or a crop from bottom for a square comp.

I originally cropped this to horizontal, but there isn't much room at left and right. I could add canvas I suppose. Thanks for the suggestion. Will try to see what I can do.

nicely exposed with sharp details, it's great that you have a head turn I just wish the body was angled towards the camera as well. I'm with Dan re horizontal or square crop. TFS it's a handsome peli!

It turned out there was more room on the left than I thought. Thanks for the suggestions.
