Whenever birding in the tropical Andes region the mountain tanagers are always a highlight. This may not be my favourite of the bunch. But he is a beauty nonetheless.

Wonderful image Glenn and so colourful. I'm seeing a white ring between the iris and pupil. Is that a feature of this beautiful bird or a catch light? Love the perch and the soft background.

Lots of interest in this image Glen, great perch and the detail, exposure and color of the bird are outstanding....and yes....a cool looking eye indeed.
